Our Executive Director

Lisa Stein

A dedicated and passionate Jewish communal professional for twenty five years, Lisa Stein brings to HERJC a plethora of experiences, and a lifelong commitment to Jewish life. She began to feel the powerful connection of synagogue life as a teenager, when she served as President of her USY Chapter in her hometown synagogue in Syracuse, NY.

Lisa attended Binghamton University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Judaic Studies. After college she attended a dual degree program in Philadelphia earning a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and a Certificate in Jewish Communal Service from Gratz College. Prior to beginning her tenure at HERJC Lisa served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Marion and Aaron Gural JCC in Cedarhurst. For thirteen years Lisa worked in Syosset at Midway Jewish Center, serving as the Principal of a Religious School with over 250 students as well as as the Youth Director.

In her free time Lisa enjoys traveling, cooking and baking, kickboxing and spending time with friends and family. Lisa and her husband Stu live in Farmingdale with their children Gabriella and Max.
