DAN GERSTMAN  (Email Dan)

HERJC President 2009-2012

Dan and his wife Pam joined HERJC in 1988. Dan has served on the HERJC Board of Directors since 2004 and most recently as a Vice President. He has been a part of many synagogue committees including the Executive, Ritual, Finance, House and Rabbi Search Committee and has chaired the Strategic Alliance Committee. Dan has also been instrumental in the launch and development of the HERJC website.

Dan and Pam have four children: Lauren, Charlie, Brooke and Gaby, all of whom have attended our HERJC Nursery and Religious School programs.

Since 1983, Dan has played a key role in the growth of his family’s business. Gerstman Sales and Consulting has grown into a national sales agency and HGA-Quest into a national retail merchandising, installation, and event marketing company. Dan currently serves as the President of HGA-Quest.

He has served as a Board Member of the Cross Island YMCA since 2000 and was the Board Chair from 2004-2006. It was as Cross Island’s Program Committee Chair where he formed the idea for a foundation in memory of his sister Lisa Beth Gerstman. He co-founded the Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation to help children with physical disabilities attend summer day camps in the Metropolitan New York area. Each summer, the Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation integrates about 140 campers by partnering with the YMH/WA, JCC, YMCA of Greater New York, The Children’s Aid Society and other not-for-profit organizations to make it possible for the children and their families.

Dan enjoys all athletics as a participant and a fan.  He roots for all the hometown teams with a particular passion for the Mets, Knicks, Rangers, and Giants.  His greatest joy comes from his entire family and his friendships in the community.
