Your child’s commitment to the Jewish community and to your child’s future is vital to our community. It is our belief that a strong Community Service Program is a reflection on the full cycle of being a meaningful part of the HERJC family. As the parent of a Jewish child, you understand the importance of giving back to the community. At our Religious School, students learn to support so many programs by giving time and resources to various community activities. Giving back helps our children toward lifelong tzedakah and gemilut chasadim—loving kindess.
As an example, we have introduced a mentor program to help our students with their Hebrew proficiency. 8th and 9th grade students will be working with Religious School students one-on-one—under the supervision of Mr. Woolfe, to help them improve their reading skills. Mentors receive community service.
